The aim of the Elemire Zolla International Research Association- A.I.R.E.Z. founded in Montepulciano (SI), Italy, in 2009 under the inspiration of Grazia Marchianò, Zolla's widow, is to treasure the intellectual legacy of the Anglo-Italian polymath, scholar and writer Elémire Zolla (Turin 1926 – Montepulciano 2002). On a formal plane, A.I.R.E.Z. is an apolitical, unaligned and non-profit association. The research and publications it promotes are open to senior and young scholars alike committed to studies on the comprehensive nature of Zolla's thought and the fields of research dealt with in his work. A.I.R.E.Z. services are for the benefit of all who are in search of a steadfast intellectual anchor in a time that is "out of joint", as Shakespeare said speaking through Hamlet. Indeed, without putting time out of joint but on the contrary digging deep into its mysteries. Zolla has retraced the path to follow, exploring Eastern and Western thought at their sources, indigenous traditions and new ways of knowledge for a multifaceted humanism. A post-twentieth century humanism free of all dogma, built in the footsteps of Zolla's thought and that of kindred minds, to be a guide for the perplexed focusing attention on the goodness and beauty that does exist in today's society but that is systematically ignored, as the ostentation of evil and corruption become the only lifestyle worthy of emulation in modern life and of 'breaking news'. Committed to this task, A.I.R.E.Z. invites researchers from all over the world to join us in marking the tenth anniversary of Zolla's passing (2012) with an international Conference to be held in Montepulciano on May 29-31, 2012. More information can be found on the A.I.R.E.Z. website.
